Juanita Hong

Currently residing in Seoul, South Korea for some personal projects, I am originally from the New York metropolitan area.

Over several years, I have dealt with a wide range of areas in photography including shooting special events, studio portraits, commercial, food, interiors, photo journalism, landscapes, and children. From these experiences, I've learned my strengths and weaknesses in photography. Therefore, I'm not the type of photographer to say that "I can shoot anything and everything!". I've already overcome the experimentation period of my life and I'm a firm believer in that a good photographer has its specialties.

I don't shoot landscapes, babies, weddings, cats, toilets, your pet snake, etc. My specialties are strictly personalities, documentary, and black & white portraits. I'm heavily inspired by 90's cartoon shows, movies, music videos, Diane Arbus, Douglas Kirkland, and other photographers who appreciate the reality from the photograph rather than the manipulation.

I'm working on a few documentary projects and currently looking for people who would like to be part of it. I am also available for private shoots.
