Stuart Richardson

I am an American photographer and custom printer living in Reykjavík. I moved to Iceland in fall 2008. I am looking to meet people to collaborate with on photo shoots as well as clients for my printing service. The majority of my photography could be characterized as travel, street and landscapes. I am looking to shoot more portraiture, so I joined up. I tend to be interested more in portraiture and "fine art" photography than I am in fashion or glamour, though I am willing to work in many different genres. Though I have my own ideas, I am flexible and I am willing to work with the model to achieve the type of results that will suit us best.

If the means interest you as well as the ends, I work with 35mm, medium format and 4x5 cameras. I still prefer to work with film, particularly in black and white, but I also shoot digital in 35mm and medium format and can do that style as well. I tend to prefer more natural, less processed images than are generally in fashion these days. I occasionally use flash, but 90% of my work is lit only with natural or ambient light.
