Gi·la monster (hē'lə)
n. A venomous lizard (Heloderma suspectum) of arid regions of the southwest United States and western Mexico, having black and orange or yellow scales.
I'm a photographer based in Baltimore, and this is the site for my figure and nude work. I also have a non-nude site -- Gila In the Road #796154.
My main inspiration comes from some of the classic photographers of the early 20th Century -- Frantisek Drtikol, Man Ray -- but lately I've been very interested in the work of people like Harry Callahan and Francesca Woodman. I'm also interested in exploring more editorial-style shoots that tell stories -- a la Gregory Crewdson or Cindy Sherman.
In addition, I've been experimenting a lot lately with motion picture film -- 16mm, regular 8mm, and super8. I watched way too much Stan Brakhage and Maya Deren last summer.
I love working with dancers, yogis, and athletes, and I'm always interested in working with people who are excited about art.
Peace.
