‘Aja Dexter is a native of Oakland, CA.  With the ambitions of modeling, she started at the age of eight, strutting her stuff on the runway in her grandmother’s fashion shows.  From the age of 8 to 13, she participated in different styles of dance ranging from tap, ballet, and jazz, Hawaiian, Dancehall, and Tahitian.  At the age of 17, she was formally trained on the runway by her mentor, Monica Obelton of MTM Models becoming one of her leading models.  At 18, she participated in the Model of the Year Competition sponsored by Dark and Lovely. During the production of the competition, she was introduced to James Head of Headworks Designs who was the designer of her evening gown.  After that, her career had advanced with James and Monica taking her under their wing.  ‘Aja had participated in various fashion shows from NAACP, Skin is In 1998-2001 and 2003, Skin is In Again, Everett & Jones girls featuring D’Wayne Wiggins and worked with many designers and choreographers and promoters, Corey Action (New Style Motherload), Mahstan Fanaka, Danny Williams (Diamond Star Productions), Mel Monroe, Lamar Watts, Petros Montegos, Mario B Productions, Carley (Grown & Sexy), Brandy Hamilton (Lipstick Fashion Boutique), Kimberly Ross, LaToya Skinner, 41510, Y’Anad (Fashion on the Square), Next Level Entertainment, A Diamond in the Rough, and many more.

At the age of 31, she is currently working and resides in the Bay Area, married with a son and perusing her education at the Art Institute of California-San Francisco with a Bachelors of Art in Fashion Design.  ‘Aja is the Executive Vice President of World Wide Fashions Industry and CFO of N’tyce “U” Entertainment, where she is the fashion show coordinator/producer and trainer.
