I was always fascinated with imagery and color. I bought my first SLR around 96 and have been using a DSLR for about 8 years. Making an image stand out goes beyond just coloration. Artifacts need to be removed, edges smoothed, skin tones made even, etc. Sometimes a photo is taken and it appears to be setup just perfectly... that is until the image is viewed at full size. At full size all of the little details make themselves visible. Some people have certain areas that they are sensitive about regarding their body. Maybe it is a birthmark or blemish? Even with the best makeup, sometimes a blemish will be visible and potentially detract from the overall image. In today's digital world, there is no reason to have a bad complexion show up on a photo. Maybe you have a mark on your arm from a childhood vaccination. Maybe you are using images for your portfolio that have artifacts all over the place? Maybe you wanted your red dress to be a different color? No problem. The work I do goes well beyond red eye reduction. I have been using Photoshop and other tools to create custom graphics and manipulate images for over 10 years.
As per the link above, I do not just edit photos... I take them as well. Taking photos is actually what got me into image editing.
