*Currently looking for fresh faces for some new concepts. Will be accepting more TFs than usual right now.*
Commercial photographer in Alexandria, VA with an emphasis on fashion. I don't monitor my MM acount very much so if I don't respond to you, please follow up by contacting me through my website. You'll find more of my work there too. www.charlesbutlerphotography.com
I also own Union 206 Studio, a membership based studio available for rent to photographers, videographers, and production companies. For more information about Union 206 go to www.union206.com
My rule on TF is pretty simple.
- I always pay models for a gig where I'm being paid. I often do the casting for my clients and like to have a network of models to pull from for the right look.
- A model pays me when they want images to develop their portfolio. Same for MUAs, Stylists, etc.
- I will TF when I want to test a model to see if they can do the work.
There are also times I just like to play around with new lighting or new concepts at the studio. I usually have a few models that like my work enough to experiment with me. In these cases it usually turns into a cool, creative, artistic session. Similar to musicians just jamming together. In my experience models, MUAs, Stylists, etc. can be just as artistic as the photographer.
I never release unedited images. I know some photographers give out a CD of all the frames from a shoot, but I'm very concerned about protecting my brand. I never want an image out there with my name on it that I haven't "finished". In a TF shoot you can expect about 5 fully edited images per hour of shooting. That's approximate but pretty close.
