Who is Northwest Glamour?
We are a husband and wife team that started photographing models in Spring 2009. We usually schedule between 2 & 3 model shoots a month (sometimes fewer) depending on our busy schedules. Finding a sitter for our daughter, working around our professional photography, and finding time for our personal lives can be extremely difficult; which means that we do not wish to work with unprofessional models. We schedule shoots up to 3-4 weeks out and are looking for dependable, confident models to work with on glamour, swimwear, figure, and artistic photography. Tasteful nudity is often involved in our shoots; and we are very upfront with what we photograph, the images in our portfolio show exactly that.
Chris Thompson is the photographer and artist. I am skilled in Photoshop and in-camera adjustments. I have a background in scenic and architectural photography that I like to bring together to create artistic images with models and muses. I prefer to travel to locations that very few people have shot to create amazing images.
Cheryl Thompson is my assistant and has been since the beginning. We've been told many times that having a female assistant on shoots helps the model relax and feel more comfortable. Often times Cheryl assists the model as needed, too.
Our Take
on nudity...nude is nude, this includes "implied" and topless. We feel confident that our gallery represents many types of tasteful nude photography. Models that have posed nude for us have regularly said that they felt comfortable and had a fun time during and after their nude experience with us.
on being self-conscious with nudity...it's understandable. We strive for the best product available and aren't interested in showing less than quality images. Most models are self-conscious about nudity; but trust in us to bring out the best in you. Give it a try, you may surprise yourself. We often hear of scars and other marks on the body keeping models from posing nude; chances are these issues can be removed in post production by a quality photography company, like Northwest Glamour. Twenty years from now, you may be disappointed that you didn't at least give it a try.

on meetings...we prefer to do a pre-shoot meeting. This allows the model and us to get to know each other and see if our ideas are compatible. We usually meet at a Starbucks, but are open to other locations.
on traveling...90% of the time, models travel with us. Often times, locations require long travel times (sometimes up to 3 hours), primitive roads (summer roads), and roads only accessible by four wheel drive; when the model travels with us, she is saving her own money and is able to relax before the shoot. If you're uncomfortable riding with us, you're welcome to follow us at your own expense.
on escorts...most models don't bring them. If you feel the need to bring one, please let us know ahead of time...we don't like surprises either. The escort must not get in the way of the positive environment that we try to create. Often times, boyfriends, girlfriends, and husbands can be awkward for the model to pose in front of and can inhibit their potential; some feel they need to intimidate the photographer. Use your best judgement. I would hate to drive 2 hours to a location for a shoot and have to call it because of an insecure escort...but I will.
on trade shoots (TF*)...trade is available for models that have the same interests as us; our portfolio and profile represents this. Trade work that we are not interested in, includes: fashion, gothic, catalog, commercial, hs senior, family, etc. These are paid assignment only.
on safety...use your best judgement and get the facts; at the very least, check the photographers portfolio for quality work. Sadly, photographers say shit about photographers all the time; all of which is hearsay without first hand knowledge. Talk to the models that have worked with the specific photographer for the best advice about that photographer. You may be pleasantly surprised or shocked depending on what you've previously heard.
