As a child, while the other kids were drawing puppies and houses, Lauren O’Jea was busy drawing faces. Eyes, lips, noses – everything about a person’s features, their bone structure and face shape fascinated her. As she moved on to college, she continued her drive toward an artistic future with a major in Fine Arts, with a focus on Portraiture and Figure Drawing.
After graduating and having spent a few years of working traditional jobs, she realized she wanted to continue her growth by following her other artistic passion; beauty. Lauren enrolled in an esthetics program, where it was quickly realized that she could combine her love of color, her education in art, and her newfound understanding of the skin to become a makeup artist.
Lauren works in the areas of fashion and events, beauty, editorial and commercial photography, and finds one of the most fulfilling parts of her career her work with her many wonderful bridal clients. She has also shared her passion for the art of makeup as an educator at Empire Beauty School and happily given her time and talent to charitable organizations such as Look Good, Feel Better, and Relay For Life. Lauren O'Jea lives in Manhattan.
