About me
I am a sculptor whose primary subject is the human form. I am known for two differ types of sculpture: 1. statues sculpted in the traditional way in different materials, bronze, raku fired clay, pewter, different resins, Forton MG, etc. 2. life sculptures, also called life castings, in which impressions are made directly from the model using a quick, comfortable, and harmless process and then transformed into different materials. What touches the skin is made from seaweed and the experience is similar to a seaweed wrap in a spa.

My reason for joining MM is that I am always looking for opportunities to network with others involved in depicting the human form.

My goal is to create pieces of art that present the human form in a classically beautiful manner (never sleazy nor pornographic), hopefully with emotion. Also, I want my work to last and for that reason, most but NOT ALL of what I do are nude. Jean Cocteau said, "Art makes ugly things which frequently become beautiful in time. Fashion, on the other hand produces beautiful things which always become ugly with time." Since the materials that we sculptors use can really last for hundreds or even thousands of years, I want people way off into the future will see a "Parvin" and say, "Oh wow!" and not, "Look at the ugly clothes." There is a kind of immortality with sculpture both for the artist and the model.

I always consider the models I work with to be partners in the creative process and encourage their ideas and input. I do not expect nor allow someone to work for me without compensation. In addition, my normal practice is to give the model a copy of the artwork which could be quite valuable. If you happen to be under 21 and female, I insist that you bring an escort, preferably your mother or a close friend, to at least our first meeting. 21 and older, an escort is still welcome, whatever makes you comfortable. By the way, I have been married to the same person coming up on thirty-nine years, have one son and two young grandsons.

While I do use male models occasionally, the female form is much more commonly depicted in art. Though it would depend upon the concept, I prefer someone who is athletically conditioned like a dancer. I am much more interested in proportion than height. I am not a fan of breast enhancements if disproportionately large.

My studio is near Leetsdale Drive and Monaco and I am generally there during normal working hours M - F. But while I am first and foremost a sculptor, I also fly a corporate jet occasionally.

If you would possibly like to work with me or just come by and see what we do and talk art, feel free to contact me through MM or my direct email, parvinstudio@comcast.net. But I do not want the distraction of email at the studio and will not be on line until I get home. Besides, I would much prefer to talk than type. My studio is (303) 321-1074. If no answer, leave a message there and try my cell (720) 971-0824. If I am flying or otherwise out of reach, I will get back to you.

Credits
I am presently the lead artist on the largest sculpting commission in Colorado, a veterans' tribute garden for the City of Westminster. The first two of eight nine foot tall bronze figures have been completed and dedicated.
I have written about eighty published articles on various aspects of the art world mostly for "Sculpture Journal Magazine." I have two instructional DVDs available on life casting.
I am an honorary lifetime member of the "Association of Lifecasters International" (A.L.I.) and am one of only four people in the world recognized as a "Certified Lifecasting Instructor" by the A.L.I. One of my pieces took first place in this organizations last international contest.
While most of my pieces are in private collections some are on public display as mentioned above and at two universities.
I show in two galleries though most of my work is now by commission.

Just for you David “My art is a reflection of my journey… my dreams are a book locked in my heart… my eyes are the carving tool, and my hands are the path back to my thoughts… back to my journey!”

Hi David, what an honour to me getting so many attention from you. Your work is amazing! My first steps in taking nude photographs was learning to direct the model. And one of my teachers was an old artist living near Cologne, Germany. He was painting, taking photographs and (!) also sculpturing! You're doing a great work. If i was a female model I would love to be your model some time. =;) Take care and kind regards! Robert

Hi David, I have a modeling port on here as well....#1369255; I would LOVE to do a project for one of your statues to immortalize myself in your beautiful work!
I had a chance to do this in FL but circumstances did not work out due to locations....very disappointed...so think of me next time! We both have great taste! Check out my textile arts as well on my site.
