Through my undergraduate studies at Missouri State, I plan to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science, with emphasis on global cultures, meaning that I will concentrate on the connections between textiles and art of two of its largest contemporarily and historically contributors: Asia and Latin America. My goal is to acquire first hand experience working with designers and their influences. The aim would be of a balanced cultural and artistic exchange to produce a unique line of clothing that would reflect a Christian message and a globally multi-cultural wearer. I plan to study abroad in Latin America during my undergraduate studies in fashion design. Study abroad and similar experiences will and have been an integral component of my undergraduate studies.
After completing education at Missouri State; I plan to further my educational career in, the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, a technical school of design with access to international programs and opportunities to knit together cultures as well as garments. The result will be an educated person combining both her passions in the field of fine arts and an acknowledgement of the global need for active cross-cultural ties to produce an innovative and unparalleled business.
