De Melis is a unique company specializing in extraordinary clothing and fine dressing. Our aim is to empower everyone with style! We provide personal shopping and styling for men and women as well as our own line of women’s attire. Our belief is that clothing should present an air of sophistication yet tranquility for life. Superior taste and craftsmanship envelope everything we do and the De Melis brand brings vintage class forward with investment pieces for the modern chic woman.

When designer/entrepreneur Melissa Scianna was young, her great grandmother taught her how to sew and read patterns. It was an undying passion for the industry that led her to New York City and the Fashion Institute of Technology. There she specialized in women’s tailoring and ready-to-wear and even spent a year in Florence, Italy perfecting her skills and broadening her fashion horizons.

She has worked for names such as Masano NY, Izod, and Dennis Basso. In addition to her professional experiences, she has participated in numerous independent fashion events including the “FIT Annual Block Party” as well as the “Connecticut Designer Challenge” in New Haven, Connecticut. While studying at Polimoda in Florence, she created and organized a student design show and art exhibition entitled “From New York to Florence” and also coordinated her own student show in New York City.

She founded De Melis LLC. in 2008 and looks to eventually open a retail boutique of her own.
