> Artist’s Statement

With the combination of many years in graphic design, a background in graffiti art and a fascination with images from the past. Jay uses iconic imagery such as classic cars and pin up girls and places them within Abstract environments that contain a graffiti influence. This combination creates an interesting contrast of aesthetics. Jay refers to his most recent work as the most organic creative process to date.


> Biography

Jay Bellicchi, a Boston native moved to Miami in 2000. Shortly after he started “FIFTYTHREE” a Limited edition apparel line. Since then Jay has adopted the name as his creative identity and has been painting and designing under the name “FIFTYTHREE”. FIFTYTHREE art has been featured in local Miami publications such as Tiempos Magazine and 944 Magazine. Jay co-founded AltSpace gallery in Coconut Grove back in 07, which recently closed due to the slow economy. AltSpace Gallery was featured in the  Miami Herald, Deco Drive and Daily Candy. Jay currently is showing work at “Inyourskin” Art Gallery and Tatoo on South Beach as well as “Invasion” clothing store in South Miami.
