Hello,
I'm looking to build a much stronger portfolio in both print and runway work with a view to having a part-time modeling career. My schedule is extremely flexible, I'm willing to travel.
I admire 'Model Mayhem' for being a working community of models and other artists *for* artists and models, and I'm hoping that access to your site, and the exposure and support I will gain from it, will breathe fresh air and energy into that goal.
My style is what I would describe as classic with a twist. I enjoy taking traditional styles (pencil skirts, shift dresses, jeans) and then making them 'different'; often with a piece of jewelery I've made or bought.
I try to buy from small boutique stores, thrift stores and second-hand stores, even ebay, rather than larger big box stores. But I enjoy clothes from all ages and regardless of my own style I have an open mind towards others. Apart from anything else I seek to benefit from looking and learning as this as I'd hate my own 'style' to become boring!
I'm attracted to fashion because of the dual challenges it presents of the business and creative worlds. There are very few fields like modeling in which you have people working in different creative ways, all seeking to meet the business bottom line. That's an incredible and exciting challenge!
Above all though I hope that my modeling career be as fun and as challenging as it has been so far. I hope, also, to meet and work with some interesting and amazing people along the way. I try to excel in everything I do; I'm very friendly, out-going, and committed. I've previously put these skills to work entirely in the business world and, through my own choice, have decided that this is not enough for me to be happy. I'd rather earn less money by leading a more diverse and less predictable, more creative career life.
In this way I hope to model, and in the balance of my time, to write - I'm already half way through my first novel and have agency representation; I also publish poetry - and I hope by being accepted by 'Model Mayhem' that I can give my modeling career the best chance possible of success.
This is the aim for the next few years of my life, and I hope Model Mayhem will help me give it my best shot!
Thanks for listening!
