Everyone would like to be a fashion maven but some individuals are simply born with a keen eye for design and natural sense of style. Shauna Ireland, the designer behind WAISTED fashion, is one of those individuals.
Shauna’s personal sense of style is influenced by her extensive background in dance, by her exposure to European fashion design and, inevitably, by the numerous cultures she has experienced through her long time passion – travel.
Everyone has to start somewhere. Shauna started working on what some may consider a less than glamorous project: redesigning vintage clothing. Revive 45 was her first stab at fashion design. The concept was simple but edgy and (as all fashion should be) fun. Reworked vintage western wear was starting to catch on in North America and she had a vision for her Calgary-based company. She hand picked the clothing, laid each piece out on the table and then worked long hours to create unique, individual pieces. Initially, Revive 45 was promoted through word-of-mouth referral but quickly grew through private fashion parties, a series of fashion shows and select retail partners.
Shauna has continued to expand her horizons but Revive 45 still has a special place in her heart; working on the designs to rework vintage pieces allowed her to flex her creative muscle and take another step forward in her career.
Over the past 5 years she has pushed herself and pursued every opportunity that presents itself. Most recently she has Produced a number of fashion shows across North America, worked as a stylist and as s fashion editorial writer.
But what really excites her? Creating the total experience. By utilizing her diverse skill set she works across various industries to create luxury brands and special events. Shauna Ireland and Tanya Clark her partner with Luxe Global have been venturing in this diverse market with a vision of fusing fashion, art, music and performance!
