About me
Hi everyone!
My name is Isabel Farrington, and I'm a 17 year old photographer out of Boston, MA. I've been photographing for about 3 years now, taking classes both at school and at summer programs. I learned on a classic black and white film camera, but now shoot mostly digital color with a Nikon D90. My favorite lenses are a 50 mm and 17 mm. That being said, I absolutely adore film, and would love to shoot more with my old Hasselblad. I have a dark room at home and make my own prints/develop my own black and white film.
I am inspired by the human figure and face. I think so many things can be read about a person simply by studying the lines and curves of their face. I am fascinated by the broad scope of humanity that inhabits our Earth, and thus love to get to know new, interesting characters.
I love to do full, though out, creative photoshoots. I'm always coming up with wild ideas, and thus far have only used my friends as models.
With Model Mayhem I hope to meet a plethora of willing models and eccentric personalities that I can add to my portfolio of faces. I'm looking for people who are interested in doing something wild and fun, as opposed to simple commercial style shoots.
I work hard to make shoots as enjoyable as possible for models too. I tend to take their opinions highly into consideration when I plan out the shoots. Often I will shoot the model the way I want, and then take some pictures just for their own personal use if they request. They have complete control over how they look in this situation.
I usually shoot on location, but I do have a soft box and hot lights and a backdrop for studio-style work.
If you're curious as to how I work, some of the stuff I've done in the past is: a giant game of checkers with the pieces being people, a person as a flower, an insect, a color project using paint on the body, and finally, shoots using particularly interesting pieces of clothing or props like massive ball gowns and such.
You can message me, myspace me, flickr mail me, whatever. I just need to be assured that you are legitimate and not a stalker and I will trade numbers and figure out a time for a shoot.
I look forward to working with people here and in doing so, improving as a photographer!
