Chatoyance Photography (Kat-Lynn)
I have dreamed of becoming a photographer and actually joined MM as a model to find out what it was like on the other side of the camera. It seems like a long time since last November but I am pretty happy with how things are going.
Chatoyance is from the French meaning Cat's Eye. It is the effect seen best in this type of gemstone and is caused by the needle-like crystals running the length of the stone. For years, I dreamed of naming my studio Kat's Eye, but alas, another beat me to it, so the French term will speak for me.
For years, my friends and I would take every picture we could. I would never leave home without my camera and it was through these years that I developed a love of taking the perfect photograph. For some time now, I have been taking classes from Dwight Arthur who has taught me much in the way of photography.
I took Photography classes all the way though high school and decided that one day I would become a photographer. Some of my classes included a week long course at Red Deer College last summer entitled The Art of Photography. During the year at Red Deer College, I took classes at the Phototek Training Centre; Digital Photography Demystified, Introduction to Lighting Options, and Image Editing Essentials among others.
I also take my camera everywhere and shoot with a Rebel XTi and have many different lens's. New fisheye lens, tripod, reflectors, I am ready!! I am an expert at photoshop and have all the equipment including a new pentablet that lets me get close and personal!
I was also very fortunate to be invited to Saskatoon by Phil Haskins from Photo-Arts to take photos. There, I was able to take pictures of an engagement, an expectant mother, and a model!! I have many mentors on Model Mayhem. Tony Chan has been my friend and mentor and will be there for me forever. Francis A. Willey always sends his best and said from the start that photography would be the way that I would go.
I would love to take photos for TFCD and I will provide you will an edited CD of what I feel would be the best photos. I have a vehicle and can travel to you or if you wish you can travel to me as I have a semi-studio set up in my home. I also love to shoot at different locations and have lots of ideas!!!
I already have some photoshoots lined up and I hope that my friends will drop by to see what is new.
