About me
I was an art and media arts major as an undergrad, but reality soon set in a few years after graduation (read: I worked for Marvel Comics for a few years, then they went chapter 11, I got laid off, and lived on unemployment for way too long!). While I had big aspirations, I ended up going back to school for a different career - and now, after a few years, I'm picking it back up, as an amateur photog, at the moment. I'm here on MM to try to build up a portfolio and get some good work together, as something more than a hobby but (at least for now!) not quite a career. The artist in me has been crying for an outlet, and I'm hoping to explore and see where it takes me.
Note - most of my friend requests are a way for me to "bookmark" models whose work I really like, and/or who I'd like to consider working with in the future. As such, please don't hesitate to contact me if you're going to be in the NYC area (I'm just across the Hudson - a 10 minute subway ride!), and in fact, I'd like to encourage it! I live in a converted factory that's now all lofts, and I think it really lends itself to some potentially great industrial photo shoots.
As you can tell from my limited portfolio, I'm particularly interested in both portrait and nude artistic photography. One of my goals is to be able to take such good photos that they don't require any post-production (which I think has just gotten too overplayed recently, although I'll admit I'm a fan of HDR).
Please also contact me if you're involved in any local group photo sessions from meetup.com, glamour101, etc (since, as I mentioned, I'm just picking this back up and am not really planning on making any money from it). Thanks!
