Photo-Grafika is Mark and Stephanie Rosales, a husband and wife team based in Los Angeles, CA. Our main line of photography is portraiture.

What is Portraiture to us?

Art has to be intuitive for it to be called art. It has to elicit an immediate reaction or arouse an innate emotion in both the artist and the observer. To us, portrait photography is the ideal medium to facilitate this experience.

When we first started to get into photography, we took a lot of street photos – signs, hydrants, windows, buildings and storefronts, anything we saw we shot. It wasn’t until we really looked that our photographs had evolved into street portraits.

Everyone knows the cliché that the eyes are the window to a person’s soul. Well, it is. We’ve always had a profound fascination for the human face. In our portraits we try to capture the realness of our subjects by revealing genuine emotions in their faces. We can put our subjects in gritty, urban environments to contrast with the delicate quality of the human soul. We can put them in their natural environments to enhance their romantic and organic traits. Or we can put them in a studio environment to simply make them a blank canvas.

We hope to network with models, make-up artists, hair stylists and other photographers.
