About MeI am the coolest guy you will ever shoot with. I am a proficient photographer and I know how to get the camera to do what I want which is to capture beautiful and interesting pictures devoid of tacky effects or silly watermarks. I prefer to shoot in natural light, especially the millions of acres that comprise the Mojave Desert; studio backdrops pale in comparison.
My interest is art nudes in nature. Nothing else really. My goal is to one day be published and displayed in fine art galleries. To prepare for this eventuality, I study and I work at my craft. I prefer not to shoot what's already been done a million times which (in part) means I won't shoot anything with caution tape; I won't do smeared and/or poorly-applied makeup; I won't do angel wings; I won't do randomly-placed, useless items and I won't do bright, pointless colors or "booty" shoots. I also know how to use a semicolon properly.
If we shoot with me, you will never be without direction. I always have an idea of what I want the finished product to look like before the model is inserted into the picture so you will not be standing around having to think of new poses. Having said that, I do like getting the model's perspective so your input is welcome and sometimes vital. I prefer to meet ahead of time (public places like Starbucks, libraries, etc. work well) before we work together so that I can show you pictures of where I want to shoot, discuss the poses I have in mind and talk about how I see the shoot progressing.
My shoots often involve some off-road driving and short hikes to get to locations which may require you to scramble up a few rocks and perhaps even get a minor scrape or two. Don't worry, I haven’t lost a model yet.
Lately my interest in film (35mm and medium format) has been renewed so I’m breaking out my film bodies and lenses, replacing light seals and improving my auto-focusing skills to prepare for shooting next spring. In the meantime, I have found some great new places in Joshua Tree National Park to work in and have been hoping to find an experienced model with a desire to create beautiful art (and memorable experiences) to join me. It’s going to be awesome.
