About Me

I have been a professional photographer since 2002. As a photographer I like to experiment with new ideas, techniques and equipment as well as working with more classical and traditional styles and approaches to photography.

I am looking to undertake more unusual, edgy and experimental works in both the studio (which I have a mobile studio setup and not a static studio) and on location. I am particularly interested in working with light and shadow. I would like to hear from anybody with any ideas or styles that are slightly more out of the ordinary. I am happy to work to any level, and for any purpose. My preference is to work at an artistic nude level with both males and females of any shape or size as I feel the human body has so many different and unique forms.

My style of photography is very individual and in some ways unique to me. I primarily use very strong and contrasting directional lighting, regularly from only one light source to create strong shadows and highlights across the frame. In addition to my use of very contrasting lighting, my work is normally combined with a low level of saturation that gives my images a very distinctive dark and moody feel and tone.

When post processing any images I take, I keep the airbrushing and manipulation to a minimum as to preserve the quality and beauty of the photograph. While I am happy to remove the odd blemish or mark from the skin please do not ask me to perform digital cosmetic surgery (digital weight loss, breast enlargements, nose jobs. etc.) as the answer will always be NO. It is not that I am unable to do the adjustments, it is that I believe that the human body come in so many different shapes, sizes and proportions and each one is as beautiful and mesmerizing as the last and should be celebrated as such, not changed or manipulated.

At present I am only offering TFP/TFCD and ask for a model release to be signed at all shoots; this is to cover both model and photographer. I do offer a percentage share of sale on shoots for project that I am working on, depending on the level I offer between 30% and 50% of the profits made. I am able to travel all over the UK for the right project.

I see TFP shoots as a collaboration between photographer and model, and as such I like to involve the model in the creative process as much as possible. Where possible I will always bring a selection of props and ideas to a shoot as well as an open mind.

If you are interested in working with me or would like further information then please do not hesitate to contact me. I have additional examples of my work both on my website www.studio1910.co.uk & on my deviantART account www.studio1910.deviantart.com

Availability:

I nearly always have weekends available to conduct photoshoots. With suitable notice I can normally make arrangements to be available during weekdays but this will be entirely at my own discretion.

Studio work and Location work:

I prefer to work on location whenever possible to help give any photographs a form of context and background. I do undertake some work in a studio environment as I have a portable studio lighting kit that can be set up in a suitable sized space.

Chaperones:

I fully understand and agree with the fact that the safety of the model and photographer should be the most important and paramount factor in any shooting environment, to that extent I am happy for models to bring chaperones along to the shoot on the understanding that they do not interfere with the shoot. I would appreciate it if I could be informed prior to the shoot if you are or are not bringing a chaperone. In addition to this I reserve the right to bring an assistant with me on any shoots, and likewise I will let the model know before the shoot if this is the case.

Travel:

I do not normally reimburse travel expenses for models; even though I work primarily on a TF basis it still costs me money to run each shoot. As such I will normally prefer to travel to the model or arrange the shoot for half way mark at a suitable location.

No-Shows:

Quite simple, I will not rebook or entertain any notions of rebooking if the model fails to show without providing notice equivalent to 2 hours plus travel time before the shoot is due to take place.

Contact:

Where possible I like to have a phone conversation with the model prior to the shoot. I am happy to make the call at a pre arranged time. I also ask for a contact number to be provided before the shoot takes place so if there are any problems neither party is left standing around wondering what is going on. No contact number = No Shoot.

Many thanks for taking the time to view my profile.
