Harriet was born on the 24th March 1989 in Rinteln Germany. Having parents serving in the British armed forces Harriet became accustomed to travel at a very young age, until 1992 when her family settled in Hampshire, England.
Whilst growing up Harriet spent numerous hours going through her mothers and grandmothers modelling photographs, which influenced her desire to continue this family trend of a career in front of the lens.
‘You could say that modelling is in Harriet’s blood’...
However, believing that modelling was an unrealistic career path Harriet studied Fashion design, Textiles and Art at college, until she was scouted by Toni & Guy, where she undertook her first modelling assignment for the Toni & Guy Academy in London.
This opportunity soon escalated leading her to become one of the finalists for the L’Oreal colour trophy, where the panellists included, Andrew Collinge, Charles Worthington and Trevor Sorbie.
Preceding her first experience on the runway Harriet was soon signed up by a leading Plus Size Agency in London. And before long she was assigned to work with renowned companies, such as; Matalan, where she featured in their fashion supplements, in addition to being the face of QVC for two seasons; which included modelling for their website. Harriet also appeared on prime time television channel ITV ‘This Morning’, where she modelled a collection of high street outfits.
Having two years modelling experience behind her, Harriet decided to re think her modelling career and became freelance. This gave her the opportunity to pursue some of her own looks combining her keen eye for fashion and her creative flare. Working with experienced and talented photographers, such as; Ben Lee, Jo Bradford and Kyra Lunn (trained with Rankin) enabled Harriet to create her current portfolio which can now be viewed on this website.
Harriet strives to continue her allegiance with the world of Plus Size modelling, as she feels that more Plus Size models will help to readdress the balance of the size zero factor. And that the more curvaceous figure, will once again be at the pinnacle of the modelling industry, which it so rightly deserves.
