From an early age Alana knew she wanted to be involved in the entertainment industry. She began studying at the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy at age 9, and continued on right through her secondary education. She was a regular performer in all the Sacred Heart College productions, and followed her performing arts studies through at the Council of Adult Education.
Alana started out as an extra in the feature film ‘Queen of the Damned’, giving her high aspirations, and has since had an array of experience in acting, presenting and modelling.
Alana’s modelling career has seen her gain both catwalk and photographic work for fashion labels such as Mossimo, Emily & Leo, Miischa and Duke India; As well as appearing in Fashion Journal and a winter photo shoot for the Herald Sun. She is also a regular hair model for Rokk Ebony. Alana has also gained experience in fitness modelling, featuring in shoots for Ironman magazine and Women’s Health and Fitness, along with a cover for Australian Natural Bodz. This experience gained Alana a position as Miss January in the current Wet’n’Wild Calendar, as well as the coveted position of featuring on the cover.
After a holiday to L.A., Alana returned to concentrate on her career. She gained a position with Life Funk TV which saw her branch out into presenting. As a roving reporter reviewing nightclubs, bars and restaurants, Alana was able to develop her own segments and work on content and scripting. She also conducted regular vox pops with the unsuspecting public which forced her think on her feet and develop strong ad libbing skills. This led to Alana producing another segment sourcing new talent in the fashion industry and conducting interviews with up-and-coming designers.
Alana went on to appear in the music clip ‘Electric’ by new artist Mel Jade, a Clark Rubber TVC, the Tropfest short film ‘Bad Luck & I’, and extra work in the Australian feature ‘Kin’. Alana has also spent the last year completing 12 episodes as a principal character in the full first season of the new sitcom ‘Snowpeck’ (still in production). She says she now fully understands the commitment and discipline needed to improve her skills and further her career, but she is thriving on the challenge.
Alana is also a qualified Beauty Therapist and Paramedical Aesthetician (pre and post-operative care for cosmetic and plastic surgeons).
As a result of Alana’s growing profile, she was asked to sit on the judging panel of the recent Hottest Hunk Competition, where she helped to narrow 50 contestants down to just 1 winner over a number of heats. As one of the major prizes of the competition, a winner was chosen to appear with Alana in the next advertising campaign for Rush Energy Drinks. Alana has also utilised her profile to draw attention to various charities including Project Dovetail, which saw her participating in the organisation’s recent Charity Event which helped to raise over $7000 to go to children in the orphanages of some of the poorest countries in the world. Not to mention her on-going work for Rescued With Love, an animal rescue organisation where she fosters mistreated dogs until they can be found a new loving home.
Alana feels completely at home in front of the camera and is used to her work being varied and fast paced. She has just returned from a hectic week on the Gold Coast for Zoo Weekly National Finals and shooting for their upcoming Swimsuit Calendar. She is also about to shoot for the 2010 Miss Kitty Calendar, and having recently signed on to be the face of a new alcoholic beverage, Bewdy Cold Lager, she is excited about what the future brings.
