I am Joanna, MUA of The Powder Room (mm#1200752). I have always thought that modeling would be a fun thing to do, especially because I love fashion, makeup, creativity, and everything else that goes with that. Although I have also always had a misconception that models have to be tall and very thin, meaning that I could not model.
 
When I joined model mayhem a few months ago to pursue makeup artistry, I realized that was not true. There are photographers out there that want to capture the beauty of people who are beautiful but not perfect.
   
I did a couple of MUA shoots and met a couple photographers and models. When they started asking me if I had ever considered modeling myself. After talking with them is when I really started considering the possibility.
 
I will be honest and say apart from my bridal portraits, wedding, and one photographer having taken some shots, I had no experience in modeling. September 5, 2009 was in fact my first official photo shoot.
 
I am not expecting to be paid for shoots as of now. I am planning on doing TF* work to build a portfolio. Of course that all depends on the photographer and the concept.
  I will bring a chaperon (my husband) with me if I have not worked with you before.
