I've been working the better part of the past twelve years as a photographer; mostly editorial and advertising gigs for magazines; But god knows I've done my share of projects I thought inane. I spent a goodly amount of time in Hong Kong and Tokyo and got niched there, but there are worse places to be niched! Incidentally, if your a model; one word of advice ~ a well paid gig and a reputable company don't make it golden ~ watch yourself and get the details in writting. I've spent the other part of my twelve grown up years working in film and tv in the art department of various films and tv programs as either a set decorator, a prop dude, or a production designer - their all creative. I hold a union card for these jobs and if the film is non union and I can shoot or do camera, (I don't belong to the IATSE 600 - cinematography guild); I'll shoot stills.
A note of brevity regarding nudity,(no pun intended); whether my crap landed in Vogue or I burned it with a model in a ribauld salute... we all know sex sells - yes the net has made my life as an artist eminently more creative and fun, (It's also given life to losers with cameras). I love the female form but if your a bit more conservative... rock on... I'm going for a look - and an artist can find that in a full body cashmere and make it rock. I prefer throwing it back in the face of my contradictory culture, beautifully, but somewhat tempestuously ... but photography is a collaboration and my interest in a model means the work... equally scored by the model. It's the pieces we make, not the pieces we burn under a bright light~
