Halstan Williams is recognized internationally as one of our Industrys leading fashion and commercial photographers. Back in 1975, a bricklayer by profession, he was encouraged to try modeling himself. He took to it quickly and was signed with Helen Rogers at the Plaza Three Agency. In 1976 Halstan became the first Male Model of the Year. This success earned him foreign representation by the Industrys top agency at the time, Nevs in London. Halstan was now on his way as he continuously booked jobs nationally and internationally. Many other successes quickly followed and for the next 9 years, Halstan was known throughout the world as The Winston Man. Today he is a non-smoker and quite health conscious.
"I want to paint pictures, I want to make the images happen", he told himself. This revelation led to his study of the art of photography, which extended his interest into the artistry of makeup design. In record time, his efforts produced remarkable results and he began working with international models, shooting them for the prestigious London Model Book.
Halstans ability to take aspiring actors and models and transform them into the beauty they truly are has been his passion and craft since the first time he picked up a camera. He always strives to find honesty within the image.
His subjects have appeared on covers such as Cosmopolitan, W, and other internationally known magazines. New York and foreign agents have signed many of his aspiring actors and models to lucrative contracts.
Every year Halstan's photographs have earned awards at the International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) conventions in New York and Los Angeles. These include Model of the Year, Talent of the Year and Child Model of the Year. Halstan is a founding member of IMTA, and has helped create careers for actors and models, nationally and internationally.
Halstans current interests have grown to active participation in theater and films. After having explored the art of acting he now counts dozens of stage production and commercials to his credits. One of his most recent spots was as a principal in an international automobile commercial for Lincoln. He also starred in three motion pictures.
Halstan just had the shutter mechanism replaced on his camera because he shot over 400,000 pictures in the last three years!
He engages his subjects with gentleness, which is appreciated by everyone who works with him.
