Current projects.

(D)evolution.   Most of the fragmentation of American culture is playing out in secret, “in the closet” and otherwise disguised under the thin veneer of a so-called set of societal norms and values.   The goal of this project is to expose or otherwise portray the subcultures, secret lives and personal fetishes that that lie just beneath the surface of each of our daily existences.

dIStopia.   I've always been interested in the decadent side the pre-WWII era -- the notion of an era of indulgence, excess and entitlement brought dramatically to an abrupt end by The Great Depression (in the US) or the rise of fascism (in Europe).  If you any of you had the good fortune to see the original production of the musical Cabaret while it was still on Broadway, in the closing scene, the emcee of the kit kat club, symbolizing the excess and decadence of the short-lived era, appears in a concentration camp uniform with a prisoner id number tatooed on his wrist and an upside down triangle on his lapel.   Powerful stuff.  The goal of this project is to portray the (self-)destruction or collapse of an amoral laissez faire distopian society society under the weigh of its own excesses.

Sanitarium.   As you fall asleep, your mind experiences a transition between its waking state and REM sleep.  For some people, the onset of REM sleep precedes the loss of sensory awareness (your brain falling asleep faster than your body), leading to vivid visual and auditory hallucinations.  The goal of this project is to visually represent dreams, nightmares and hallucinations experienced in this half-awake, half-dreaming altered state of consciousness.
