I am an artist, author, and photographer. I recently published a novel about a Wyoming-born cowboy turned fashion photographer, Cutter's Bizaar. Much of the imagery I shot over the last few years was research and painting material for the book and a "magazine" explaining how the novel happened and more.
I've just finished my first draft of another novel, this one about a figurative artist who makes it big in New York. I've changed my painting style and am looking for new models to photograph for paintings related to the new novel.
Among other things I'm looking for young female models interested in posing for photos involving water play, urban chic street fashion, banal (non-sexist/non-sexy) nude shots that are respectful and non-objectifying. And other subjects that would be appropriate for hyper-realist to abstract impressionist paintings.
I especially like to work with inexperienced models and am actively involved with teaching models how to work in front of a camera. My training is in art (art modeling), and use art gesture modeling as my basis for body movement and facial expression.
I'm not looking for models I have to pay (beyond travel expenses) as I am generous with retouched trade photos, however, if I find one model who will do multiple shoots, especially a series of water related shoots, I'll trade for a painted portrait.
