Currently I am working on expanding my portfolio to more fashion oriented images. I live in Tucson, AZ and would love to meet other local/regional artists/photographers/models etc that want to collaborate on some creative work for images.
I have been working on photoshoots in LA for several years now but they have all been mostly "hair industry" related... trade magazines, advertisement/marketing, etc. Hair of course is always my main focus, but a huge part of my job is art direction and concept creation. While I love adding to the creativity of a shoot, my favorite part is being on set as quality control (scuplting the hair, fixing fly aways, staightening a collar, turning jewelry, pulling out fabric wrinkles, getting a model to react, etc etc). It saves on photoshop time and provides a polished high end image. I also have worked at NY Fashion Week for a couple of seasons with various designers, typically with an international styling team.
My schedule when home tends to be very flexible. I work fulltime as an Artistic Director for an international hair product company...so I travel a lot for hairshows and educational trainings/seminars for other stylists as well as popping into the LA office on occasion. A major aspect of my job is brand development...I come up with the concepts used for brand imaging, work all aspects of the photoshoot, and then teach the techniques that were utilized. So I am quite familiar with both photoshoots and runway.
