I really love photography but I keep it as my art and do something else for a career. I strongly advise my models to do the same thing. Even top models in big cities earn very little (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/15/opinion/its-fashion-week-poor-models.html?hp) And for new models, here's what it really takes to make it in this business (http://www.upworthy.com/a-news-team-follows-potential-models-for-one-week-my-face-is-now-stuck-in-disgust-mode-3?c=slt1)
Photography is a big idea space and I love stuff like photo essays, nature, lifestyle, portraits, and of course, fashion and glamour. In terms of style, I steer away from cliche. My influences include the classic photographers in fashion, glamour, and art as well as theatrical lighting from iconic movies. I get bored fast and never do the same thing twice.
So, if you're a model or MUA, and you have some stuff you'd like to do, I'd really love to hear from you. I don't take money for my shoots because I don't want to compete with the pro shooters.
