UPDATE (29 July): All new pics! Also check out my new website at www.wix.com/mokojumbee/photos
I really love photography but I keep it as my art and do something else for a career. I strongly advise my models to do the same thing. Even top models in big cities earn very little (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/15/opinion/its-fashion-week-poor-models.html?hp) Photography is a big idea space and I love stuff like photo essays, nature, lifestyle, portraits, and of course, fashion and glamour.
In terms of style, I steer away from cliche and that "studio" look. I prefer few components, simple poses, and no more than two lights (if indoors). With just these things I go from very subtle all the way to big drama. My influences include the classic photographers in fashion, glamour, and art as well as theatrical lighting from iconic movies. I get bored fast and never do exactly the same thing twice.
Nudes and implied aren't at the top of my list. I have shot a good few art nudes but only when my model had a particular idea they wanted to pursue, and I'm not putting any of that work on the web.
So, if you're a model or MUA, and we have some common interests, I'd really love to hear from you. If you're a professional photographer, I'd love to learn from you -- but not to compete with you. I don't take money for my shoots. I think that's unfair to the working pros. ...let's rock on, shall we?
