I'm a former Marine, former Navy Diver, and living in North Hollywood. I've been photographing as a hobby since I was 8, and as a profession for about 5 years now.
I'll happily do TFP/TFCD work, especially if you can throw an original idea my way, or if you are willing to help me experiment with a few ideas and concepts. I prefer to stay away from nude or implied nude work. It limits where i can post the photos. Not saying I won't do them, just that i will never ask for them myself.
I do have to admit I'm a sucker for any excuse to go to the beach, and I thoroughly enjoy the challenges of beach photography. I will almost always do TF work for a beach shoot!!
I am always will to provide copies of releases or contracts prior to shooting, and have no problem with models that prefer to meet beforehand in person. I also don't mind drivers/escorts as long as they are willing to assist during the shoot (hold reflectors and carry gear).
tips for chatting with me:
~I talk and negotiate with a lot of people. Make the subject line in the message something that sticks out, helps me remember! I have 20 messages that all say "Hey" or "Like your port"... plus a little personality goes a long way!
~I understand times are tough, and I'm all about helping the newer members to this industry. Don't be afraid to ask if I'd do a shoot. Even if I don't feel you'll benefit my portfolio directly, I'll try to work something out. I may have you test out a concept for me (I really need volunteers for some long exposure photography, not fun, but you do a shoot for me, I'll do a shoot for you-it's still a trade when you can't afford to pay).
~If I go through your portfolio, and contact other photographers you've worked with as references, please don't be offended. I think we've all had at least one bad experience with someone from MM, and I like to cover my basis. On the flip side, by all means contact any of my tagged models. If a photo isn't tagged, it's because she's not on MM, but guaranteed the same photo is on my FB and she's tagged there.
