About Me

Hi, my name is Richard, I live in Northampton, filling my time working at the local university as media demonstrator, I'm fortunate to have access to our studio and enjoy making images for my portfolio which are hopefully of value .

Kit wise I shoot a Canon with L lenses - but ain't a Nikon hater, no kit snobbery here. I have also started shoot videos with my DSLR and am interested in combining video with fashion for short films.

Picture wise I'm inspired by a lot of the work on MM which can be truly amazing and also the work of portrait masters such as Rankin and Bailey.

I'm always learning and trying to improve on my work so am open to experimenting with lighting and new concepts.

Over the last couple of years I've been very lucky to work with some very talented models on a TF basis through MM, and find that this is great way to work and treat every shoot as a creative collaboration. For this reason I don't do simple portfolio shoots as I expect models to be involved in the creative process.

My shoots usually take between 30 mins to an hour, focusing on a concept which is discussed before hand, I also ask that female models are accompanied by a chaperone as I feel it makes for more relaxed shoots.

As I shoot RAW files I don't give out any images on the day of the shoot, and afterwards I choose between 1 and 6 images to work on in photoshop - and generally spend at lease a couple of hours on each image.

I then email Models and MUA's the finished results. (and will then mail out full set of JPG's if requested)

Thanks for checking out my profile, please leave any comments (good or bad it's all constructive) on the images and I'm always happy to do the same and am always happy to discuss my work with togs or models.
