We chose the name trite, because it has a biting quality. Fashion is, by definition, shallow and superficial; which is not to say that it has no value. But we recognize the role it plays in the grand scheme of things. We thought we would embrace this by taking the negative connotation of the word, and making it positive through our snide, tongue-in-cheek celebration of it. The word itself is simple, direct, and unapologetic, which are all aspects that carry over to our philosophy. We wear it as a badge, and we ask our customers to do so as well. We don't ever want to take ourselves too seriously, because that is the antithesis of sexy.
We are looking for collaborators. We don’t want just gratuitous self-promotion. We are looking for photographers, models, make-up artists--the whole gamut of creative types to make works of art using our unmentionables. If you have a unique vision and it involves the lingerie that you see here (or at tritethings.com), please get in touch with us.
We will be putting together a web-gallery containing this work. You will be linked and credited, and if any of your work is used to generate revenue, you will be compensated for every piece sold. But that isn’t why we want you. We want you because you are passionate about creating powerful and unique works of art.
A word about TF: We know that a lot of people have very strong feelings about tf- work. If you do not do tf, we respect that decision. This project is not for you.
A word about women: We frequently work with women photographers. We feel that women often have a unique take on the idea of sexy. That does not mean that we will not work with men. Please know, whether man or women, we expect you to accept this invitation only if you want to challenge your creativity and approach the concept of sexy in new and exciting ways. We are not limiting this project strictly to women models either.
Again, if you would like to use our pieces and have an exciting and unique body of work, please, we want to work with you.
Trite lingerie is playful and sophisticated with a daring and sexy edge, empowering women through luxurious silhouettes that accentuate curves and confidence.
The primary human components of Trite are Jen (14817) and Joey (40295) Rocket. The married couple has been working together since 2006. Jen creates the designs for our fine unmentionables, and Joey art directs and creates the supplemental design (graphics, web, photography).
We are a start-up, and we are serious about making women look and feel sexy. We are about empowerment and having fun. We are interested in true collaboration with photographers and models. If you wish to collaborate with us, please get in touch.
