Fine art photographer
Specializing in edgy /candid lifestyle photography….
I heard someone say once that an artist statement is like trying to explain the unexplainable. I would have to agree, how do you explain Art, especially if you’re not sure if you’re an artist? Indeed, if I approached the world as a writer it might be more reasonable to attempt such a ridiculous thing.
I look for moments, stolen instants in time that touch me somehow and need to be printed. So in that respect I guess you could call me a printer if you had to call me something.
A print has an energy and presence all its own. It’s an extension of the stolen instant, of the “sight” of the person behind the camera and all his life before that moment as well as the energy and essence of who or what is in the image. If you are “connecting” with a print you should almost be able to hear and smell it and should certainly be able to feel it. It should take you somewhere, either into itself or to some other place from your life that it touches. I am constantly surprised by the different stories that people see in my images. Usually they are something completely different from the story that I see. But that’s the whole point, it is its own thing and talks to different people in different ways.
My work does not have an agenda other than showing you images that for one reason or another touch me somehow. I go through my world trying to look at everything and once in a while I see something that makes me think “wow that’s cool”. If I can capture it as a moment or and image it becomes work that I show in the hopes that someone else will be touched by it in some way.
If somehow my “style” touches you, I am available for photography sessions and can range from candid lifestyle photography through boudoir and beyond. I print and edit everything personally to ensure privacy and discretion.
Thanks for looking….
