As soon as something new is discovered, something else is concealed. New questions begin to teem like ants. No where is this more the case than with the portrait. To look at a photographic portrait is to witness an unspoken dialogue between the photographer and subject.
Despite the potential for a photographs to record the moment ‘as is was,’ more often than not, the portrait generates more questions than answers.
