About me
My name is Becca and I have been involved in the fashion industry and doing makeup since I was 12. I love the artistic side that I can express through makeup. I also love making someone look and feel more amazing then they already are. Two of my main influences for makeup are Kevyn Aucoin and Pat McGrath. While it is one thing to take a pretty face, and make it camera-ready, it is another thing to transform a face into a different face. The transformation is what I love doing. I enjoy working with different people to realize different visions. I love portraiture that is not of the standard variety. I like to aim for brilliance in an image, and I look to work with other creative geniuses such as myself. I LOVE ART. I am a very competent stylist. I have a huge personal collection of clothing, accessories, shoes, and purses, especially vintage purses, and am more than willing to use these to make your shoot have a more complete look, and I am an intelligent person who will research the inspiration in order to have all the details correct.
I value intelligence and integrity in others; I don't care for flippant, ignorant pigs. If your portfolio consists of 8 shots of the same girl in different frames, taking her panties off, probably shot in about 2 minutes...and the other 2 shots on your port are a different girl taking her panties off...I WON'T WORK WITH YOU OR BE YOUR 'FRIEND'. I will group you in with the numerous other GWCs on here. And if your port is a bunch of nature shots and 2 model photos of your cousin at Christmas, then you should probably be framing photos for your family's foyer, and not be on MODEL Mayhem...It's not called Sears Portrait Studio or Nature Mayhem, eh? Also, if you are just a GWC (guy with camera!) and you need a makeup artist to be involved in a shoot where you really just want to get the model undressed, forget about it. That's all.
My goal is to rock the runways in NY, Milan and Paris, and one day, I hope to be in Italian Vogue with my favorite photographer, Meisel. I will compare your photographs to Meisel, and if we work together, since I am so inspired by his art, I may reference this or that set of Meisel's that could influence our work together. That is not always the case, but just know that I love Steven Meisel, and he is one of the TOP fashion photographers in the world for a reason, so I strive to make images reminiscent of his work.
I want tear sheets in my portfolio; I will not do TF or 'shoot-outs', unless it is published. The occasional TF that I decide to do means that I think your work is wonderful, and that I am flattered that you asked me to shoot. I use high quality products (most of my makeup case is Make Up For Ever, a very professional line) in order to turn out high quality looks that need minimal touch-ups. Please contact me for rates, which vary depending on the assignment. My time is valuable, and I shoot outside of my FT job, which is not a 9-5. If I am notified at least 2 weeks in advance, I am more flexible and can write you into my schedule. I do not have many weekend days available, except perhaps very early in the day or late at night.
**I WILL CHECK OUT YOUR PORTFOLIO, WEBSITE, AND WHATEVER SHOWS UP ON GOOGLE BEFORE I DECIDE TO DO ANY TF SHOOTS.** I will not do TF for mediocre photographers. If you don't want to exchange certain information such as your name, email, and possibly phone number* I will probably think you're a bit sketch...perhaps a paranoid privacy freak. Phone numbers and email addresses are not cause for me to find out where you live and be a creep. That's for the GWCs. I'm not particularly interested in your house or family--I'm on here to find great photographers and to make art and get published. Your family and house don't have much to do with that, now do they? That being said, I am glad that you have a house and family, if you do, and those are great to chat about while we work; I am not some crazy privacy freak.
*I communicate by text most often, and I don't have email or internet on my phone, so if I have given you my phone number, USE IT.

Additional info: I speak fluent Spanish, and very good Italian, and I am willing to travel a limited distance. Travel time more than 45 minutes will require appropriate compensation.
On a side note, I will give credit to all parties involved in the photos that I display, and if, by accident, I forget to do that, please shoot me a message. I would expect the same on all photos where I was an involved party.
