My name is Shaylee, actually & i am 18 years young. I aspire to reach self actualization, and through that comes my pursuit to continue to better myself as a photographer. I am currently undertaking a Arts Administration Traineeship, and i am making attempts to stop being so catcher in the rye, by finding the bests and worsts inside of me.

I have only just started getting paid gigs, which is awesome, but i don't really expect payment. I may be selling myself short, but i have a solid belief in, owning a DSLR does not make you a photographer, its makes you a DSLR owner.

I've photographed/designed posters for plays, such as Cabaret, Fringe shows, Youth theatre company brochures, headshots and show performances. And I am currently designing the marketing for an upcoming theatre piece called 'Pressurelands' & have had a request to shoot subjects for a charity calendar.

My work has been described as:

'Images of youthful innocence collide with lust and rich sensuality challenging notions of safety and youth sexuality'.

And

''Both cheeky and beautifully etherial captures a gentle poingnancy each captured moment enriched far beyond that which memory can provide."

Which i think is all a bit pretentious, as i haven't ever had formal training of any kind. My aim to learn as much as i can by myself, extend my portfolio and networking out as far as a i can, in hopes of being able to get accepted into a prestigious photography course/school. I am currently looking into RMIT in Melbourne.

I hope via MM i will be able to connect with some amazing people to create art. I'm willing to work with people for free, if they are, all for the greater good of the both of us extending our portfolios. And I still need to get down with the jargon that is used on here.
