I have walked the streets that were struck by the Tsunami in Bangkok. I was able to see with my own eyes hundreds of years of history, i as well saw the destruction. I wondered around through temples and palaces. I gave homage to three monks who had just been ordained. I have had spiritual awakenings. Nothing crazy, just moments of full peace. Riding on the back of a scooter, i drove around Phuket Island. I sat and talked with the locals, about many different things. I have trained and learnt Muay Thai in their gym. I left with considerable growth.
Denpasar was where I visited a death row inmate and his family for hours. Scott had already been in prison for 7 years in Bali. Younger than me, barely older then my little brother. Just two weeks after i left, he had his appeal turned. He is now only serving a life term.I prayed at their Holy Water Temple, another spiritually awakening moment. In Kuta, i saw the memorial for those who were lost in the 2002 bombing. This is the same city that weeks after i left, had me up on a billboard. I was the face for a fundraiser effort that Bali was making for Japan. This is the reason i am wearing a Kimono but wearing the Miss Bali Crown. I was so honored to be the person they asked.
The Dole Plantation in Hawaii, there i saw where they grew the food that we open from jars and cans. This is the food i have snacked on since childhood! The fields were beautiful and the trees so exotic. The memorial at pearl Harbor was my first war related location. It made me think of my grandfather, and what he went through as a Sergeant-Major. All those lost, are truly lost, if they are not remembered and talked of.. 'Lest we forget'
I bathed in the volcano spring in St.lucia, known as the 'Fountain of Youth'. I have swung from a hanging branches in their rainforest. I have walked fully clothed to stand beneath two waterfalls. I have smelled their flowers and learned of their cultivation.
I have traveled throughout Cuba. My very first double-decked bus ride! Their culture and music was so alive! And their art?! Breathtaking. Tropicana truly was a treat!! Yet this is a communist country, so i have seen difference. Yet, so much is the same as the other places i have been. Its all in the way you look at it. I have seen all of cultures hit by the same oppressions.I have also seen societies learn their own strengths at their times of weakness.Other countries are being destroyed.
And yet, I have found friends in all places. Someone who would always talk of things that mattered.I have photographed these travels to include in the book series that i have been working on. Life matters to me.

Extract from Thus Spake Zarathustra: Ubermensch
'Zarathustra, however, looked at the people and wondered. Then he spake thus: Man is a rope stretched between the animal and the Superman- a rope over an abyss. A dangerous crossing, a dangerous wayfaring, a dangerous looking-back, a dangerous trembling and halting. What is great in man is that he is a bridge and not a goal: What is lovable in man is that he is an over-going and a down-going. I love those that know not how to live except as down-goers, for they are the over-goers. I love the great despisers, because they are the great adorers, and arrows of longing for the other shore. I love those who do not first seek a reason beyond the stars for going down and being sacrifices, but sacrifice themselves to the earth, and the earth of the Superman may hereafter arrive. I love him who liveth in order to know, and seeketh to know in order that the Superman may hereafter life. Thus seeketh he his own down-going. I love his whose soul is deep even in the wounding, and may succumb through a small matter: Thus goeth he willingly over the bridge. I love him whose soul is so overfull that he forgetteth himself, and all things are in him: thus all things becoming his down-going. I love him who is of a free spirit and a free heart: thus is his head only the bowels of his heart; his heart, however, causeth his down-going. I love all who are like heavy drops falling one by one out of the dark cloud that lowereth over man: they herald the coming of the lightning, and succumb as heralds. Lo, I am a herald of the lightning, and a heavy drop out of the cloud: the lightning, however, is the Superman.'
