About MeI'm a photographer, and I am an artist. This is my self portraits series. It's very special to me, and I hope you enjoy it.
More of my work as a photographer can be seen here: http://www.modelmayhem.com/500111 and here: http://www.modelmayhem.com/1780637
Sidenote-I am an MM Mentor and do take on students when I can. Additionally, I teach fun pin up workshops in the US and Canada and give lectures at local art & photography schools.
I split my time between NYC and Detroit, plus some other places for adventuring, gallery showings, and lectures. Give me a reason to schedule more road trips!

Credit NotesHere are some touching comments I have received since starting this project:
"Sometimes it seems (to me) that these are not really self portraits at all or, rather, that they are self portraits that the building would take of itself if it could. The photos feel like the building is baring its soul or heart and you, in the image, are the embodiment or personification of that heart. This is what I see when I look at this project and I find the photos incredibly powerful for being able to give the buildings a voice."
"Your ability to connect with that which is not human facilitates a transcendental experience. I have spent 20 years connecting with the non-human environment and finding ways to manifest that on the film plane. You give these places respect and treat them as any man would treat a dying stranger, whom he or she stumbled upon, unable to help ... whose only request of you, be that you find a way for others to see what you have seen and possibly connect with the truth of who we are as a species ... and what we leave behind.
Your use of your body as a contrasting device not only amplifies the intensity but truly brings everything to life."
"This hive of productive energy is "home" to a photographer who goes by the alias Studio X. A recent arrival to this city, her works......invariably focus on the paradox of renewal in Detroit and the persistence of eros in a sterile milieu. It is a pessimistic subject to be sure; hence, the pleasant surprise when you discover that the images were taken by a woman whose own spirit is a veritable wellspring of optimistic defiance ..." -Robert Del Valle, Real Detroit Weekly
