I have been drawing all my life. I spent my working life as an airline pilot for 40 years. I retired 5 years ago and decided to become a portrait painter and painter of nudes. I have done two workshops in USA with an artist who produces sensuous nude paintings, which in some ways I seek to emulate. I always work from a live model supported in some cases by photographs taken by a professional photographer friend. I also work with a professional portrait painter in Suffolk as well as painting in London at an 'open studio' on a regular basis. The location for posing is at present a lovely 16thC house in the Bedfordshire country-side or my recently commissioned secluded studio. None of the 'poses' are pornographic or gratutitously graphic, they could involve total nudity, be partially draped or clothed -- I always involve the 'sitter' in constructing a pose to ensure comfort and a pleasing presentation of herself to the viewer.
