I'm a freelance makeup artist originally hailing from the GTA. I am a completely mobile business, and will travel anywhere I am asked to work. Please keep in mind that compensation for mileage and kit is not optional; this is my profession and my business and must be treated as such. If you want to work on a tf basis, it must be discussed with me prior to any agreements. For the people who do not feel payment of any sort to a makeup artist is necessary, then I'm not the person you should be contacting and the quality of the work you receive will not be at the standard I can guarantee.
I graduated from Complections International Academy of Makeup Artistry in Toronto, and was honoured to be at the top of my class. I was taught by some of the best artists in the industry and continue to be in communication with them. The detail, precision, and excellence that was expected of me in school has continued and will always be a prevalent aspect of my personal/professional demeanor.
I was a MAC makeup artist for nearly three years, during which I was able to hone my skills with various clients. Working with such a reputable company has given me an edge and forced me to think creatively--something I apply to working on sets. Currently I work as an Arbonne Consultant. Proper skin care/products are a passion of mine and truly the fundamentals for any good makeup application. Makeup can only go so far if you have problematic skin!
Most of my work is within the fashion industry. I love making people look -and more importantly, feel beautiful. It's amazing how a woman's inner beauty can come bursting through with such a minimal application on my part. When a client/model/talent is happy when looking at him/herself in the mirror, then I know I've been a success. In fashion and print work, I love collaborating with creative, artistic people to produce stunning images. I am always looking to meet and collaborate with new people. If you are interested in my work, then I'd love to talk to!*
I look forward to hearing from you all,
*To further my statements above in regards to tf work: Too many people expect work for free. I enjoy volunteering my time and skills for any charitable cause, however, asking me to work for free because it will "benefit my portfolio" or "look good on my resume" is often offensive and ludacrous. You would not ask a plumber to fix the toilets in Casa Loma for free because it would 'look good on a resume'. If you are an established photographer/stylist/etc. with plenty of credentials, then I am pleased and excited to work with you on any tf project! I consider it an honour that you would take an interest in my work. To you all, I say thank you in advance!!
