Great photography is 80% proper lighting and 20% proper exposure adjustments. I love the 100's of different ways you can shoot the same scene by changing the settings on the camera or by manipulating the light.
Most photographers will tell you that it's less about the equipment and more about the creativity and imagination (except most will also tell you that you need to work with great lenses). I'm a Canon enthusiast and have taken the time to figure out how to properly work the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, iso). I'm here because I'm not a great painter, poet or singer... however, I am pretty good with composing a shot and proper exposure. I express my artistic side through the camera (and the piano).
