Hi! My name is Kristina Korban and I am a recording artist, model, dancer, actress, and eternal student of life and talents. I take my career seriously and take my professionalism everywhere I go. Although I am devoted to my music I provide just as much energy and passion for all my other endeavors.
I have modeled since I was young for companies like American Girl, Limited Too, and Gap Kids. Overseas I am the face of Jaguar in Ukraine, and also the face of the Ukrainian Golf Federation. Currently I am always seeking ways to expand my portfolio and take part in interesting projects.
I have been dancing for most of my life, which drives me towards expression. Hip Hop has been my main emphasis, but am able to do other styles as well. Training since I was 12, I have danced with various schools and performing groups.
I am a bold, confident, curious character. I am responsible, flexible and easily adapt and take direction in any environment. I have excellent personal style and ad that extra flare to anything I do.
With her explosive array of visual talents, Kristina Korban has conquered hearts everywhere from her native Ukraine to the U.S. as a dancer, model, actress and film producer—yet music has been her #1 passion throughout her life. Honing in at last on her true musical voice and identity, the Los Angeles based multi-talented performer continues to rock the dance world with her high energy debut track “This Is Your Night”—an explosive reworking of Amber’s smash hit, which hit the Top Ten on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Songs chart in 1996.
Marking her emergence as a force to be reckoned with in dance and house music, Kristina’s version is taking her to similar heights throughout Europe (charting in the UK and Spain) and now the U.S. The track—which was released by Dauman Music--entered the commercial pop charts in the UK’s Music Week at #27 and rose to #15 and recently charted in the U.S. based DJ Times, rising into the Top 20 from its initial entry at #24. The original remixers of “This Is Your Night” include Gustavo Scorpio (Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” Katy Perry, Adele), Automatic Panic (AC/DC, Motley Crue, Lady Gaga, Donna Summer), Ellis Miah (Hannah Montana Dance Project and Sam and Dan (Lil Wayne, Frenchie Davis). A new remix is currently being done by DJ Riddler, whose superstar credits include Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Pink and Mariah Carey; he has also done remixes for Amber.
Currently in the studio with several top-level songwriters and producers working on an original follow-up single, Kristina has been pursuing other artistic interests throughout and since she graduated from Pepperdine University (where she studied PR and graphic design) in Malibu, California in the Spring of 2011. She is set to appear in “Bad Luck Snake Bite,” a film starring Danny Glover and directed by Robert A. Johnson, and has several other TV projects in the works. Continuing the modeling aspect of her career—growing up, she did ads for American Girl, The Gap and Limited—Kristina has done several photo shoots for Maxim Espanol, and recently shot for the magazine’s cover. She also performs weekly with other singers and dancers as part of a Southern California anti-bullying campaign sponsored by Celebrity High Magazine. Performing live for high school students throughout the region, she’s the only dance music artist on the program among pop singers and hip-hoppers.
“Because I have a background in a lot of different areas, I’m excited by being able to work in many aspects of the entertainment industry,” says Kristina, whose house music influences include David Guetta, deadmau5, Avicii and Daft Punk. “Yet music will always be first in my heart. I’ve been a dancer all my life and have always loved house music, so writing and recording dance music and working with so many amazing producers and remixers is a perfect fit – as well as a dream come true.
“By the time I graduated from Pepperdine,” she adds, “I had written and recorded enough original pop songs to make an album. But the more I kept gravitating towards dance and house music, the more I realized that this earlier material wasn’t truly who I wanted to be as an artist. I decided it would be better to build on the elements of house music I was already exploring. When the opportunity to record the Amber song came about, I knew this was the perfect way to launch my career.”
Born in Kiev, Kristina moved to New York with her parents at age three and lived there seven years before returning to the Ukraine for her adolescence and teen years. While cultivating her photography skills via her favorite toy, a Polaroid camera, she was a born performer putting on shows for family gatherings from an early age, singing, dancing, acting and even doing magic shows. In the Ukraine, she was a member of two major dance groups, including Todes, which toured throughout Eastern Europe and incorporated everything from ballet to jazz and hip hop; the other, My Way, was a hip-hop upstart at the time and has since developed into a huge company. Later at Pepperdine, she participated in the University’s annual Dance In Flight production, choreographing and performing hip-hop.
Renowned for her quick wit, Hollywood glam and curious girl next door vibe, Kristina’s passion for perfection and deep need for self-expression have driven her success as a recording artist, dancer, model, actress and producer. “My immediate musical goal is to have a #1 single and hit the Billboard charts,” she says, “and I’m excited to be on the road towards that level of success. I never want to be thought of as one who spreads herself too thin, but rather a multi-faceted artist who integrates my passions and always strives to be the best at everything I do. It’s fun being so busy doing all the things I’ve ever dreamed of doing.”
