Hello. I guess I have had two established careers before falling into photography 4 years ago. Firstly in corporate life (training and human resources) for 18 years, which allowed me to travel globally at company expense and then laterly as a paramedic for almost 7 years. I often think of the opportunities both careers would have provided me for photography had I been involved at the time, but live and learn !!

I took a self imposed sabbatical during 2009 and travelled across Europe in a motorhome, basically indulging my hobby at various religious and cultural festivals. This was a tremendous experience but not one I would repeat alone. I think the sharing would have embelished the trip so much more. It really forced me to shoot lots and lots, amply demonstrating how this will bring about such a variety of different images from the same subject.

And now I have started 2010 with the intention of making an element of my income from my camera, and as such, have shot a good few weddings/portraits for family and friends as well as a 3 month period working for a portrait company involved in toddler/baby photography. Adults are so much easier to work with !!

I am now creating a few projects of my own where I would love to get involved with able models and makeup artists to try and inject a little creativity into my photos. I have attended wedding, portraiture and creative lighting seminars (Jon Gray) but I believe the real way to push myself up the learning curve is to just get out and practice more.
