I started out with music & video production my freshman year in college. Capturing the moment, capturing music & art has always been a huge part of my life. In 2009 after seeing the video coming out of a D-SLR ( Canon 5Dmk2 ) I made the switch from video to photography. A lens is a lens after all, right? I soon found photography to be far different & far more artistic and enjoyable then video production ever was and gave up video near all together.
I've heard that as a photographer, it's best to find a niche style you're known for and stick with it. I thought that's the one thing I didn't want to do is get stuck in a niche. I've recently found myself thrown in to that however. Over the last year I've shot more and more cosplay photos to the point of which other models have said they don't shoot that style believing that's all I do!
Very recently I saw two videos shot at KatsuCon from a very young & talented video artist who goes by the name Ackson Creatives. These videos feature two of my all time favorite cosplayers Breathlessaire & Yaya Han ( which is such an understatement for who they are being more an artist themselves than your typical cosplayer ) Granted 2 years ago I didn't even know this world existed outside of Dragon-Con & Comic-Con. Seeing these videos has made me realize what I originally started to begin with. The whole reason I bought the camera I have was because of the video coming out of it! I now have an artist I am both jealous of & strive now to produce quality of the like.
