I am an exclusive photographer for iStock. I have photographed in many places around the world, and I take pictures of all different subjects -- everything from common everyday objects and people to nature photos -- in locations that vary from an improvised photo studio inside my garage to some very challenging places, including one time inside of an active volcano!

The photos here in my MM portfolio are mostly quirky portraits of some of the unusual characters I have met in my travels; if you would like to see my photos of other kinds of subject matter (alligators, food, horses, palm trees, tropical beaches, and a thousand other miscellaneous things) then pop on over to my iStock portfolio and take a look there as well.

I am currently seeking only one model to work with. I do not shoot nudes, so you do not need to take your clothes off. You will be paid a residual income stream (see below), and yes, I am happy to also give you photos for your portfolio.

The pictures we will be making will be specifically for stock photography use. Modeling for stock is not like modeling for fashion or print or any of the other genres commonly encountered here on Model Mayhem. Stock models do not need to fit the standard "fashion model" mold at all; in fact anyone can model for stock, and ordinary-looking individuals can be as successful as a top runway pro (Got tats and piercings? Not a problem. 90 years old with wrinkles? Not a problem. Missing a leg? Not a problem...). Attitude is much more important than physical appearance. Character helps. Versatility is key; you should strive to be a chameleon. Creativity and the ability to improvise are essential, and I will encourage you to brainstorm with me different scenarios and situations to shoot -- maybe one day you are dressed as a business person with a suit and a briefcase, and the next day you are a punk or a circus clown, and the next we shoot some crazy outlandish surreal art experiment. Whatever works well with you and your individual characteristics/personality will work for stock. Tell me about your dream photo shoot idea; I'll try to make it happen!

Payment: I am offering you a unique profit-sharing relationship which is probably brand new to most models here on MM. It is impossible to predict which photos will sell for stock use; therefore I cannot afford to pay anything up front, however I believe that since I am getting paid so should you -- and I will contract with you for 50% of my net profit for the useful commercial life of any photos we create together. This is much like the way actors get paid residuals and musicians get paid royalties...a few successful stock photos with me could provide you with a steady income stream that lasts for many years into the future, and could help get you through when times are lean. You will start making money almost immediately once I get a few pics of you uploaded and approved by the iStock inspectors (although it may not be much $$ at first -- be patient; the sum will increase with time and the amount of work we do together). I believe this arrangement is more than fair; in order to make it work though we will both need to work hard and create a lot of images together -- frequent photo shoots (perhaps once a week to start?) and a wide variety of different types of images. The harder you are willing to work, the more successful you will be.

P.S. - I get on best with artistic types & those who are not afraid to think outside of the box...but please don't be flaky; art is a business and 90% of success in any business is showing up.
