I've been shooting d-slr for about 3 years now, started out on a Canon 20d, spent the last couple of years on a 7d and soon hoping to be a a 5d mk3! I'm primarily a live music photographer, I have shot Ellie Goulding, Marina and the Diamonds, Blink 182, Imelda May, Alice Cooper, the Darkness, Steel Panther, Status Quo, Alanis Morissette to name just a few but I'm looking to explore studio/location portraiture. I have several ideas involving models, so if any one local (at present Birmingham/Coventry, next to the NEC/LG arena) is interested in doing some projects for TFP, do get in touch.
I have probably read too many books about the ideals of portraiture and lighting, and now want the experience to try and achieve such set ups. If you're new to modelling, that's fine, we can explore together if you're confident enough to work a few poses and ideas.. always looking for someone to practice location photography and explore lighting ideas with. I'm pretty open minded in any creative venture and have both strobe lighting and the means of setting up a small studio space in my music studio, but shooting on a plain backdrop all the time gets boring.
I have all the usual social media and photo sites... facebook, flickr, twitter, tumblr plus my own personal facebook 'Russ Tierney' but keep it private, although don't mind people adding me as a better means of communication should you wish.
