Born in Korea and raised in various parts of the United States, Joy Bergeron is an observer of life. Having lived in Hong Kong, New York City, Florida, New Mexico, Costa Rica, California, and Hawaii, she has deep admiration for beauty found in diversity, simplicity and the mundane. For her, everything is in the details.
With an actress and artist for a mother and a father in the fashion industry, she grew up with a profound appreciation for the visual. Her interest was especially piqued by films she watched as a child that helped form her ideal of beauty. Among these were "Indochine", "La Strada", "Roman Holiday" and "Brazil" to name a few.
After attending the Fashion Institute of Technology and getting her esthetician's license, Joy discovered that makeup was the best outlet in which to express her creativity. She worked at various medical spas but only discovered her love of makeup after working for the Cos Bar where she got to experiment and play with hundreds of different cosmetic lines. Making over everyday women proved to be an extremely creative and rewarding experience.
Joy now resides and works in Boulder, CO after attending Makeup Designory in Burbank, CA and continues to use everyday existence as her influence.
