Hello! I am a St. Louis photographer specializing in creating retro styled imagery, Old Hollywood Glamor, Pinup, and unique fashion photos. I have an extensive personal collection of vintage props and wardrobe, and access to much more.
It makes me feel good to make you feel good, and images we create will bring out the very best in you.
I use a studio and have an office in the Carondelet neighborhood of South St. Louis. I do alot of work for a commercial production company, and it's awesome to get to use all their nice high end equipment. My desk is the one with all the old hats and props on it :-)
My passion is creating looks 1930s Old Hollywood Glamour, Pinup, and vintage inspired fashion. I really love all that glittery girly stuff, and the silly fun of dressing up and putting lots of makeup on. Who doesn't?
My goal is to get published and make money from this art. I am very driven, anal about details, professional, and creative.
Working With Me:
I'm always open to TF with professional makeup and hair artists. I respect the up front value of their supplies (atleast, as a photographer, I can re-use my investment- you can't re-use makeup and hygienic supplies); therefore will never approach MUAHs about TF - although I'd love to!
Ongoing projects and a contact form for models on my site.
Types of models I am interested in working TF with:
*** Most obvious, you need to fit the clothing I have. The historical preservation project’s clothing tends to be size 4 or smaller. I am always looking for petite sizes (0-2). Occasionally I get clothing in that’s larger.
*** I love working with models who can bring along cool props, have access to awesome locations, and can arrange things like vintage cars, airplanes, horses, and other such “things” that I don’t currently have in my portfolio.
*** Marketing and networking is a huge reason to do TF*! If you have a FaceBook page with alot of fans, run a small business, have blogged for atleast a year, or are in the marketing or professional entertainment fields, that’s a plus and you should contact me regardless.
*** Models who can do their own makeup and hair, or arrange a makeup and hair artist. I do not pay for Makeup-Hair Artists on TF* shoots because I don’t make money from these; I often do hair and makeup myself. I’m always looking for any MUHA who wants to do TF*, but because I cannot pay, I don’t personally approach MUHAs for TF.
I’m looking for work that will benefit both of our portfolios. I prefer to work with models who already have great pictures in their portfolios where my unique style would add variety, rather than creating the foundation. … TF* should always be mutually beneficial.
That being said, if you have an idea that you're dying to do, please don't hesitate to contact me.
I would also consider trading in exchange for vintage furs, antiques, old books, hats, a fainting couch, etc.
I love working with models who have new props, clothing, interesting locations, and creative ideas.
If you can bring nothing except your body and normal clothing to a shoot, my very reasonable rates include use of my personal wardrobe and props.
I pride myself on promptly making alot of images promptly available, and I encourage you to bring a chaperone (friend, mom, boyfriend, sister, etc.) if it makes you feel more comfortable when working with me.
I'm slowly taking pictures of and describing my personal collection of clothing & items for sale on my vintage blog and e-commerce site
VintageReveries.com.
I am
always open to new business ideas!
Other Services
Website and portfolio design: My services are detailed on
KMurrayCreative.com. My rates for model and photographer portfolios, stores, paysites, websites are very reasonable. I would consider a "trade for website" arrangement with the right makeup/hair artist.
Wardrobe and costuming: I have a huge personal collection of vintage formalwear, coats, furs, dresses, slips, suits, and all kinds of clothing. I have access to even more than I can physically fit in my home. For a reasonable fee, I can outfit your entire shoot.
Graphic Design: I can do this, if I have to, if I want to. Personalized cabinet cards are really fun, but extremely time consuming, to create. I can also create logos and other useful things. I'd rather not, though, unless you're making it worth my while.
