Laura-Ellen Harris is a New Zealand-born, now Amsterdam based freelance fashion stylist. With an early enthusiasm and training in illustration, visual merchandising, pattern making, tailoring and design, she was runner up in the New Zealand Young Fashion Designer Competition in 2006.
Throughout her time of residing in Melbourne, Australia, she travelled the country extensively, putting together a body of work that has seen her contributing to Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, the LâOreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and exhibited in the Brunswick Gallery.
With an astute eye for modern creativity, she has worked alongside Yen fashion editor Imogen Dempsey and Satu designer, Chloe Kerr, and has recently worked as costume and design manager on the up-coming short film from Jo Buckman, âStarring Estherâ.
Now living the Netherlands with a qualification in fashion and textile design, Laura-Ellen is actively seeking out new and exciting projects, leading her to style for local Couture designer Rebecca Ward and contributing in Amsterdam Fashion Week.
Using a broad range of classic, unique and cutting edge themes, Laura-Ellenâs personal style favours the brooding backdrop of emotive photography, combined with a penchant for the avant garde. She finds inspiration in Japanese eclecticism, and also in the minimalistic androgyny of masculine tailoring styles. Passionately committed and skilled in fashion forecasting, she can create up to date and original looks for any brief, from street style to high fashion.
