After spending a number of years dealing in event and sports photography I decided to make the shift over to modeling photos and I haven't looked back since. I tend to focus my shoots around characters and personalities more than anything these days. If you look through my portfolio at www.kenshinphotography.com you'll see an eclectic mix of Alternative Fashion, Steampunk, Cosplay , story scenes and more. In my eyes it's much more rewarding to take a photo that tells a story or conveys an emotion rather than to just provide eye candy for the viewer. As awesome as lovely photos of gorgeous models can be, I'd much rather try to put an intriguing spin on it. Even though it sounds cliche, thinking outside the box produces some interesting works of art. From the feedback I've gotten from my clients and models, they seem to enjoy the results as well.
